Volunteers play an integral role in the support and services we provide for the community. From tutoring children to preparing nutritious meals to helping with day-to-day operations, our volunteers are involved in almost all aspects of the centre.
By volunteering, you are not only supporting your local community but you are also helping lift up a neighbourhood in need.
Almost 400 active volunteers are involved with St. Felix Centre currently, but we are always looking for more. We support volunteers on Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) and Ontario Works.
We truly value our volunteers and strive to make the volunteer experience at St. Felix Centre a fun and interesting one.
In Memory of Emma Federer – 1994-2009
Emma was one of those people who sparkled with a very particular kind of energy. She was only fourteen.
She and three friends came to St. Felix Centre in order to complete a project for school (Bishop Strachan School). Emma didn’t just ask questions, she wanted to know, and with every answer about the children, our programs, our goals for the future – and about what we believe and how we operate – she got more and more excited. Her enthusiasm was palpable, and catching. Emma was so interested in everything the Centre did, she and her friends Amanda, Nicole and Olivia organized a yard and bake sale, raising over $1,000. They were determined to help St. Felix Centre get our new youth leadership program underway -and they did. Emma was full of plans, and wonderfully committed to St. Felix Centre, the children in particular, that it touched us all.
