Don’t rush to judge people experiencing homelessness. At St Felix Centre we understand that homelessness is the result of a combination of complex challenges preventing an individual from sustaining adequate housing – one of them being mental health challenges.
We are not in their shoes and don’t know what everyone have been through. Many of our guests have been victims of abuse, experienced traumatic events or just had no access to adequate mental health support early in their lives.
Our Centre strives to implement a holistic approach to support those guests who are experiencing homelessness and/or mental health challenges. We believe in creating meaningful relationships with our guests so they feel comfortable to talk about their struggles and accept the support they need to improve their lives.
Finding housing is not enough – they need access to adequate mental health support to stay housed…. Want to end homelessness? Let’s talk mental health!
